Janalyn Hubbell
Researcher
Janalyn Hubbell is a classic study in contradictions, as she is both a focused and disciplined businesswoman and an artist with a spontaneous streak about a mile wide.
She earned a BFA in drawing and painting and leveraged that into award-winning professional experience in graphic design, branding, product design, and promotions. During her career, Janalyn has worked in museums, retail management and advertising and design firms. In addition to the work she does with Brandtrust, she is currently a partner in a firm that leverages the new worlds of interactive and social media to create more effective marketing programs.
Janalyn speaks glowingly of the power that she has found to make meaningful brand connections when conducting Emotional Inquiry research. “It’s most rewarding to me to see how the Emotional Inquiry process really just makes sense. Coming from the world of advertising and design, it’s just fantastic to see how this kind of research supports and informs the work that design firms and advertising agencies can and should be doing.”
During her tenure with Brandtrust, Janalyn has worked on projects for Burger King, General Electric, Eli Lilly, Alberto Culver, and GlaxoSmithKline, among others.
On the personal front, Janalyn is a fan of all things vintage, rockabilly music and baking amazing pies, preferably using produce from local farms. She is a very dedicated volunteer with an AIDS service organization, enjoys eating the eclectic culinary creations of her professional chef husband, Steven, and loves spending time with her dogs, the diminutive Rhino and the adorably ugly Lola Diablo.
